Presenter page

Hello I’m Kevin Lacey, I joined Hospital Radio North Kent in 1981, I have been interested in radio since the days of the pirates and I listened to Radio Caroline.
When I joined Radio North Kent I started off as a request collector which gave me a chance to meet and talk the patients and staff of Gravesend hospital, after a year or so I started my training as a relief presenter. I also started to go out on interviews for the programmes. I met many great people who have included Terry Wogan, Ted Rogers, Rolf Harris, Des O’Conner and Simon Dee from Radio Caroline plus a couple of Home and Away stars, I found these celebrities very pleasant and down to earth.
In 1987 I joined the committee and in 1989 I became chairman of the station, my current job is Vice chairman and programme manager.
During my time I have organised the 21st Birthday celebration which was a great success and we had a number of past members attend.
I’m on air on Tuesday's & Thursday’s from 6 PM until 8 PM and on Sunday’s from 9am to 12:30 this is where the legendary Radio Bingo takes place. I can also be found around the wards collecting requests.
